Moodle: Weekly format

Introduction

The course is organised week by week, with each section having a date heading. Moodle will create a section for each week of your course. You can add content, forums, quizzes, and so on in the section for each week. The current week is highlighted.

If you want all your students to work on the same materials at the same time, this would be a good format to choose.

Make sure your course start date is correct. If it is not your weeks will have the wrong date on it. This is especially important if you are restoring a course to use with a new section of students.

Set up

1.Click Open course menu> Settings

2.Expand Course format

3.Select Weekly format from the dropdown

4.Hidden sections – Whether hidden sections are displayed to students as not available (perhaps for a course in weekly format to indicate holidays) or are completely hidden.

5.Course layout – This setting determines whether the whole course is displayed on one page or split over several pages.

6.Click the Save and display button
