UAL accepts student submissions using a number of online tools. Read our starter guides below for an overview of how to submit work through our online platforms.

Getting started with online submissions

Moodle: How to submit

Moodle Assignments allow students to submit files for assessment from within Moodle. Moodle assignments support a wide range of file types, including common text, image and video file formats.

  • Accepts range of file formats
  • Maximum size 1GB

Turnitin: How to submit

Turnitin is an online submission tool that checks student work for similarity against a range of sources. Turnitin assignments are accessed through Moodle.

  • Accessed from Moodle
  • Accepts Microsoft Office and PDF files
  • Maximum size 100MB

Panopto: How to submit

Panopto is an online video hosting platform that lets students upload a wide range of video formats. Panopto will optimise upload files for streaming, and automatically generate captions and transcripts.

  • Accessed from Moodle
  • Accepts wide range of video file formats
  • No maximum upload size

Workflow: How to submit

Workflow allows students to build online portfolios that include text, image, video and other media formats. Portfolios can be submitted for assessment to course or tutor groups.

  • Accessed at: Workflow
  • Portfolios can be created from range of media types and embedded content
  • Maximum size per file: 50MB
  • Maximum portfolio size: 2GB
